When selecting program areas of Foster Care, In-Home Services (Child Not Currently in Foster Care), Child Care, or Adult Services/Adult Protective Services at the time of the sample certain activity codes are not available. What should I do in order to provide an accurate response?
Activity selections will appear to be limited when a worker chooses “Program Related but not Case Specific”on the first response page for program areas of Foster Care, In-Home Services (Child Not Currently in Foster Care), Child Care, or Adult Services/Adult Protective Services. In order to see additional options the worker should choose “Case Related” even if a case number has not been established and use the alias case number of “1111”. Always use the “Previous” button if you need to make changes to your selection on the previous screen before selecting “Finish”.
At the specified moment of the RMS sample, you are driving to a Medicaid Families & Children New Worker Training. What might be needed in the future to substantiate this combination?
Keep any Certificates from the Training or Registration Materials you may have.
At the moment of sample, you are composing an email. How do you code it?
It Depends… on the subject matter of the email.
If the email is to a Foster Parent re a Foster Child, then code 310-F.C./405-Casework. Be sure to document a case number on the first response screen.
If the email is personal in nature, then code 800-Non-Prog Spec/950-Personal Business
On Thursday afternoon you receive a simultaneous sample notification email, as RMS Coordinator, for a RMS sample on Susan Montana. However, you know Susan is scheduled off on Friday – what do you do?
Follow up with the worker to ensure the moment is keyed before leaving for the day on Thursday and discuss the activity performed.
If the worker leaves without keying the moment, wait until the next business day to allow the worker time to respond when he/she returns.
If the worker does not return within 2 business days, you may code the moment on their behalf if you know for certain what the worker was doing at the time of the moment. If you do not, wait for the worker to key the activity when they return.

Program 360 (In-Home Services Child Not Currently in Foster Care) does not have Activity 405 (Casework/Case Management/Supervision). So if a CPS worker is doing casework, what information would you need to know in order to accurately code a sample? Provide examples when CPS workers should select a program other than In-Home Services (Child Not Currently in Foster Care).
